Lucy and the Lessons

It was a dream to have you when I retire

Not from life but from work; the one we do to learn and earn!

But you found me before and that was my lesson-1

Perhaps good things in life should not be delayed

‘Coz while we are postponing life speeds by!

For me life is ‘divine’; not to be sold or bought

But the era we belong to has to fulfill a cost

And I cognize the fact that it’s not just money, but an honor that was due

To which I pay my regard as an obligation that you weren’t factory bred

You were born at home, to a family that loved yours

And meditated for your safe birth

Thus my lesson-2

You took my breath away, as I held you for the first time

All apprehensions melted with that breath

The firm grip I held you with gave birth to the positive affirmation in me

‘I can do it. And I’ll do it beautifully!’

The Lesson-3 popped out.

Your natural hue, the furry you

Those dark piercing eyes can hide no lies

That black wet nose, your yelp behind closed doors

The paws that muddy my home,

The worn-out me yet you say you want it more!

That is Lesson-4

Keep teaching me as I brace myself

I love you but I know you do it more!
